Operations software for small DTC brands

The numbers that run a brand, on one screen.

Ops Backroom brings orders and per-order profit, inventory and reorder timing, creator seeding, and organic social performance into a single operations dashboard — so the figures that decide what to make, what to reorder and what to post next stop living in five different places.

What it does

Six areas of a small brand's operations, each answering a question the underlying platforms leave open.

Per-order profit

Every order carries its own margin — product cost, shipping, platform fees and payment processing subtracted from what the customer actually paid. Money is computed and stored in integer cents, so rounding never drifts.

Unit economics

Contribution margin by channel and by SKU, customer acquisition cost, and blended marketing efficiency, on one P&L-shaped screen rather than spread across a spreadsheet and two platform reports.

Inventory and reorder timing

Units on hand, unshipped and available per SKU, daily velocity, and days of cover — with a reorder alert that fires on cover rather than on a fixed threshold, and a movement log that records where every change came from.

Creator seeding

A working CRM for the creators you send product to: samples logged against inventory, posts recorded, attributed orders and per-creator effective acquisition cost — so seeding is measured the way paid spend is.

Organic social performance

Instagram and TikTok in one place: followers over time, per-post reach, saves and interactions, audience composition, and Reels hook metrics that show where viewers drop off.

Numbers you can audit

Every figure on every screen links to a written definition of how it is calculated. The definitions are versioned, and changing a formula means changing the document first — not the code.

How it works

01

Connect your accounts

Authorize the commerce and social accounts you want read. Authorization is granted by the account holder and can be withdrawn from the platform at any time.

02

Scheduled jobs do the collecting

Automated daily jobs pull orders, inventory movements and social analytics on their own. There is no weekly export to download and no spreadsheet to maintain.

03

Read the dashboard

Screens for profit, unit economics, inventory, creators and social — each number linked to its definition, each data source showing when it last synced.

Built on four rules

An operations dashboard is only worth as much as its worst number. These are the constraints the system is built and tested against.

Money is integer cents
No floating-point value ever touches currency anywhere in the system. It is enforced by tests, not by convention.
Every number has a definition
A formula lives in a versioned specification before it lives in code, and each displayed value links to its entry.
No customer personal data
Commerce data is ingested for its financial content. An order’s commercial fields are copied by an explicit allowlist, so customer names, email addresses, phone numbers and shipping addresses are never written down at all.
Platform metrics are never blended
An Instagram view and a TikTok view are not the same event, so they are never summed into one number or compared as though they were.

Company

Ops Backroom is operations software for small direct-to-consumer brands, built and operated by Brandon Karraa. It exists because the tools a small brand already pays for each answer one question well and none of them answer the one that matters: whether a given order, product or creator actually made money.

The software is currently operated for one brand, Quickie Skincare, under common ownership, and is being prepared to run for other small brands. We do not publish customer counts we do not have — this page describes what the product does today.

Ops Backroom reads a business's own commerce and social accounts, with that account holder's authorization, and presents the results back to them. It does not sell data, does not build advertising profiles, and does not compare one business against another.

How your data is handled

The short version: Ops Backroom stores the financial and analytics figures it needs to compute your operations metrics, and deliberately does not store your customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers or shipping addresses — an order's commercial fields are copied by an explicit allowlist, so anything identifying is left behind by default. The policy sets out exactly what is kept, who it reaches, and for how long.
